Nice Beach

We arrived in Nice for some relaxation.  Fortunately, the weather cooperated, and the beach was a five minute walk from our hotel.  The beach was mainly black stones, but none of the locals seemed to mind.  Us Americans sought out a patch of sand.   It was nice to be able to hang on the beach for a few days and soak up the sun.  Added bonus: lots of topless women and men in speedos for our viewing pleasure.

Grapes to Wine

We have been married for three years!  Time flies when you’re having fun.  To celebrate, we signed up for a wine tour to check out a couple small family owned/operated wineries.   Good times and pretty nice to see how these places work from grapes to wine.  Lots of work and good luck needed to make a living.  But wine for life….who wouldn’t want that?

Place de la Bourse

Bordeaux_091

Bordeaux is so beautiful.   It’s an amazing city and we highly recommend visiting if you have a chance.   The architecture was incredible, very old and magnifique.  Luckily for us Bordeaux is walking friendly, so we were able to get around the city on foot with ease.  Close to the center of town and just along the river, we stumbled upon Place de la Bourse.  It’s a rectangle fountain (approx 60 x 30 yards); about an inch deep that fills with water, releases the water and then spews steam every twenty minutes.   It was pretty cool.   Here’s a pic during a steam session.

Take One

It's just the two of us so setting up the camera timer is a must.   Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't.   Here's one that didn't work so well but it's pretty funny.   We are in Bordeaux's Jardin Public (for all you that don't speak French, that's the Public Gardens).
